Designers begin your design by drawing or using the computer to create a scaled layout of your kitchen or space. Floor plans give you a view of the room as if you were hanging out with your light fixture…on the ceiling!
Typically, you will see your chosen cabinetry door style in our elevations. An elevation shows you how the cabinetry will appear. The elevation does not go into as much detail as the perspective, yet will show major items in the design, such as window placement. Use the elevation to determine if the way the wall cabinets and drawer bases line up is satisfactory to you.
A perspective gives you the best sense of how your kitchen or design will actually look when everything is installed. It is a hand drawn (rendered) or computer generated “photograph” of your future kitchen. Use the perspective for decision-making. For example, if you can’t decide between wood and stainless steel fronts on your appliances, compare perspectives of both to assist in your decision.
